Environmental Project (Industry)

Description
Students will complete two components as part of the project course. In the first half, they will continue to learn about how waste is managed in the Province of Ontario. This will include a look each waste stream, including garbage, packaging, and hazardous and electronic waste. Topics include: those physical processes used to handle a variety of materials, the organizations involved in this work, how the public and the environment are protected from waste (with an emphasis on links to other courses), and also policy on waste management going forward. In the second portion of the course, students will learn about all components of a Phase 1 Environmental Assessment and then complete an Assessment including the preparation of a technical report.
