Experiential Learning

Course CodeARTM-710
Lecture hours per week
Lab hours per week
Course AvailabilityOpen
Description

Experiential learning involves a number of steps that offer student a hands-on, collaborative and reflective learning experience that helps them to “fully learn new skills and knowledge” (Haynes, 2007). Learning content is important, however, learning from the process is at the core of experiential learning. During each step of the experience, students will engage with the content, the instructor, the community partners, each other as well as self–reflect and apply what they have learned in another situation. The ability to put into practice what has been discussed in theory is a valuable experience that builds confidence and prepares students for the field placement and career opportunities.
