| Description | To gain an appreciation of the scope of the fashion industry’s development, this course provides a study of the history of fashion design decade-by-decade, from pre-20th Century eras to present day. Through an examination of the trends, key designers and movements featured within this course, it will become clear how political, social and cultural events shape fashion design. Students will also learn the recurring themes within design that emerge season after season, and apply this knowledge to product development, trend analysis and forecasting principles. |
