| Description | Field Placement 1 introduces students to professional community development practice through supervised experience in a community-based setting. Students attend placement three days per week for 12 weeks in organizations such as non-profit, government, or volunteer agencies. As professionals in training, students contribute to agency goals by observing practitioners, supporting program activities, and learning (about) client populations, services, policies, and workplace expectations. Emphasis is placed on developing the foundational skills, knowledge, and professional attitudes required for entry into the community development field while applying classroom theory to practice.
