Field Placement 1

Course Code AMHW-310
Lecture hours per week
Lab hours per week
Course Availability: Open

Field Placement is an essential part of addiction and mental health work education. Students will have the opportunity to integrate theory with professional practice in an addiction and mental health service setting. As a “professional in training”, students will apply their knowledge and skills in order to contribute to the goals and activities of the agency. Students will achieve this by observing professionals in action, engaging in supervised practice activities, and learning about the agency’s clients, programs, policies and expectations. The course will focus on facilitating students' development of professional comportment and the practical skills and attitudes that are necessary for entry to the field as an addiction and mental health work practitioner.
