Description | Seminars are an integral part of the Developmental Services Worker Field Placement experience. The learning experience in seminar depends on what the student brings to class. Reflection on field practice experience is an integral part of seminar. Students are expected to: lead a discussion, reflect on professional soft skills, present a significant event, raise issues about their placement experiences, and offer support to each other. Students practice applying theoretical frameworks, knowledge and skills to their Field Placement experiences. Problem solving and critical thinking about current field placement issues, challenges and successes, and the development of a personal framework for decision making will emerge from the dialogue and assignments in seminars. Confidentiality is an expectation of all students in the course. Attendance is essential to meeting the Course Learning Outcomes. Course Learning Outcomes:
