Description | Working in an ever-evolving contract-driven field means that artist-educators and community artists must have a good understanding of financial practices. The emphasis in this course will be placed on grant writing and fundraising (costing a program, articulation of an idea, establishing metrics for project impact), budget creation, basic accounting (including cash flow and balance sheets), and organizational law (types of businesses, good governance, etc.) and project management. Students will also learn how to organize one’s personal accounting and tax practices. The course will assist students to develop an understanding of career management that supports innovation and entrepreneurship in the arts education sector. |
