Description | This course covers a range of topics as related to financial inclusion and entrepreneurship. It starts with an overview of how entrepreneurship contributes to inclusive growth and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) especially SDG 1- no poverty and SDG 8 – decent work and economic growth. Students will learn the steps of initiating social initiatives and enterprises including feasibility analysis, financing, organizational readiness, business planning, and monitoring and measuring social impact. They will also learn the legal requirements and process of organizational registration and incorporation in Canada. In the final project, students will apply the skills they gain in developing a business plan for setting up an organization or a social enterprise to create impact. |
