Description | This course surveys a range of topics as related to financial inclusion of disadvantaged groups and communities. Global, systemic challenges as outlined by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals demand innovative solutions which traditional financing mechanisms fail to address. This course provides an overview of the microfinance industry in theory and practice; the role of social entrepreneurship in reducing poverty; youth economic empowerment; registration and non-profit law in Canada , and other issues as related to financial inclusion and national policies, oversight and accountability. |
