Description

This course provides a tactical look at funding and financing film and television. Over the semester, students will examine the major Canadian funders, both public and private, and how they work on their own and in cooperation with each other. This will include a detailed look at the CMF, federal and provincial tax credits and other financing sources. Particular focus is paid to the project and applicant requirements and the application and fulfillment processes, including using agency online portals. Students will also be introduced to the basic concepts of working with non-agency and nongovernmental investors including equity investors and distribution advances.
