Description

The objective of this course is to teach the principles of fluid mechanics and the application of these principles to practical problems. Primary emphasis is placed on fluid properties, fluid statics, flow of fluids in pipes and non-circular conduits, and the design of pipeline systems. Major topics include pressure equations, manometers, liquid forces on submerged surfaces, buoyancy, Bernoulli’s equation, conservation of energy and its applications, and pump-motor–related calculations, such as head losses, power, and efficiency.
