Description | Fluid power systems are used extensively in heavy duty vehicles and heavy equipment applications. They are also used on many early and current model year cars and trucks as well as Hybrid vehicles. This course will give students knowledge that is needed to advance their understanding of "Fluid Power Systems", more commonly referred to as Hydraulics. Upon successful completion, they will be able to explain the fundamentals, rules and laws that govern the operation of a Fluid Power System. During the course Students will perform mathematical calculations using a set of formulae to determine the relationships between fluid pressure, mechanical force and surface area. Students will also be instructed how to recognize and draw the symbols used to identify the components on a schematic diagram. Students will be required to identify and explain the purpose and principles of operation of the most common components found in a hydraulic system. The correct procedures used to inspect and diagnose a hydraulic system in order to recommend necessary repairs are also included in this course. Maintenance procedures of common systems and components will also be covered. |
