Description | The first eight classes are devoted to wheel and steering systems and their relation to a vehicle’s control and stability. Topics include wheel balance, tire design, suspension and steering systems wheel alignment factors such as camber, caster and toe, steering axis inclination, turning radius, setback and rear-thrust angle. For the next three classes, you’ll work in small groups on a four-wheel alignment, including suspension checks and repairs, brake inspection and servicing. The final three classes will focus on brakes and related topics: hydraulics, power brakes, disc and drum systems, measuring and machining rotors and drums, service and repair of components and an introduction to Anti-lock Brake Systems (ABS). Note: Safety boots and safety goggles must be worn in the lab areas. You will be denied access to labs if you are dressed inappropriately. |
