Description | This course is designed give students a firm understanding of how a high pressured diesel fuel injection system works. Students will learn the principles and operations of high pressure fuel systems as well as the advantages of these systems. Students will study the different types of fuel pumps as well as the mechanical unit injector in detail by understanding the role of each component in these systems. Students will gain hands on knowledge of how to diagnose, inspect and repair these systems using the appropriate tools. Students will study the operation of the Electronic Injection system in detail. Students will gain knowledge about the superiority these systems have over a mechanical controlled fuel system. Students will also learn how the fuel to the engine is governed. Students will study the functions of a mechanical governor system. Students will learn about fuel metering and fuel timing and their effects on engine performance and emissions as well as how to diagnose and repair the governor system. |
