Description | This course prepares students for academic and professional success. Students will explore the resources available in the college to support their success in a post-secondary environment. Students will define their learning styles, identify their strengths and needs and develop a personal academic success plan. Students will further their academic and professional success skills in this course by studying different learning strategies. These learning strategies include study skills, note-taking, test-taking skills, improving memory, reading skills, time management strategies, goal setting as well as enhancing digital literacy. An in-depth knowledge of APA referencing, as well as academic integrity, will be gained. In addition, students will gain knowledge of the policies, procedures, and practices of the program through reading and discussing the Community and Child Studies Program Handbook. Students will learn about financial planning and budgeting as well as self-care strategies to build resilience. |
