Description
Fundamentals of CAM are a fifth semester course in the Mechanical Design Technology Program. This introductory course instructs the student in the use of the MasterCAM CADCAM software in a 2D environment using the hardware and the MasterCAM software; the student will construct precise geometry, ranging from single entity contours to multi-view orthographic drawings. The student will create Toolpaths from the Geometry, generate the Tooling Parameters, and produce NC data addressing the simple milling functions of: Contouring; Pocketing and “Drill Like” operations The method of instruction will be lectures and hands on instructional demonstration at the computer workstation.
