Description | This course equips students with communication skills and networking strategies necessary to secure employment and/or to take advantage of other opportunities in global business. Students gain practical experiences in global business through participating in seminars presented by trade professionals, field trips, and business dining events. Students learn about professional organizations and designations in global business, preparing résumés, cover letters, and business cards, effective email and report writing, and business communications in cross-cultural contexts. As future global managers, students examine the employability advantage of having knowledge of and practicing global citizenship and equity, soft skills, and global business etiquette (including workplace and dining etiquette). Students analyze the crucial role of networking in generating business value, learn to self-assess their own networks and create more effective ones, and leverage personal and organizational networks to achieve strategic goals for career success. |
