| Description | In this course, students will develop a practice of guidance that is responsive, positive and authentic. A problem-solving approach to guidance will be the focus of this course, with an emphasis on application with the preschool and school-age child in a child care and school environment. Students will practice these strategies in class through a number of different case scenarios as well as apply the strategies in their field placement setting. Students will also be introduced to some alternative guidance strategies including Restorative Practice. This course has been updated to reflect the most current Ministry of Colleges and Universities Early Childhood Education Program Standard, November 2018. Prerequisites Earned a minimum grade of C in each of the following:
