| Description | In this course students explore the complex legislative and regulatory framework governing Occupational Health and Safety in the workplace. This includes the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and its federal counterpart Part 2 of the Canada Labour Code, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), the Workplace Safety Insurance Act, the Dangerous Goods Transportation Act, and relevant parts of the Fire Protection and Prevention Act (Fire Code), the Building Code Act and human rights legislation. Students will acquire a working familiarity with the detailed obligations of OHS law that is essential to ensure organizations understand and meet their legal obligations. |
