Health and Well-being - Part 2

Course CodeKD-108
Lecture hours per week
Lab hours per week
Course AvailabilityOpen
Description

(4 hrs/week) Children learn best when they are healthy and safe. One of the most important roles of the Early Childhood Assistant is to promote wellness of preschool children. In this course you will learn about the health, safety and nutrition needs of preschool children. You will learn to identify and respond to health and safety needs in the classroom and of individual children. This course goes together with Field Placement (KD112). You must take both at the same time because you need to be with young children to try the things we discuss in class and to complete the required assignments and homework. This course will also give you the opportunity to discuss the field placement manual, share curriculum experiences and discuss related field issues.
Prerequisite: KD102
