This course offers the opportunity to explore the fundamental principles and dimensions of wellness. Students will examine their own wellness and develop a corresponding action plan, which incorporates available college and community resources, to improve and maintain lifelong wellness. As health and safety are primary concerns in Community Services and Child Studies careers, the course will include the development of both practical and attitudinal approaches to the protection of vulnerable persons. This importance of collaborating with other professionals and demonstrating respect for diverse ethno-cultural health beliefs and practices will be emphasized.
