Description | This course helps students to develop basics in history and theory of design and technology. The course provides an overview of the history and philosophy of design in the 20th century examining the evolution of modern design as both an artistic movement and a response to the historical conditions of modernity. Students will also learn about the history of the invention of tools and techniques that enabled designers to create innovative solutions. Students will be introduced to historical and contemporary aspects of design in classroom presentations, field trips, designer visits and personal creative explorations. |
