Description | MT 225 entitled “An Introduction to Fluid Power” is designed to guide the mechanical technology student’s investigation of design principles/calculations, component and circuitry construction/operation, and troubleshooting of fluid power circuits. The student will explore the use of both hydraulics and pneumatics in industry today. These fluids enable industrial designers to provide effective methods of power transmission to meet a variety of needs. The result is a range of applications from a simple hydraulic jack to complex applications in automated manufacturing lines. The courseware includes both theory lectures and their corresponding hands-on labs. Technologists in today’s environment require transferable skills to support the theoretical application of knowledge when supporting the engineering community and the practical skills to guide shop floor personal during install, operation and troubleshooting of fluid power manufacturing application. |
