Description | Independent Study is a course designed to provide students with the opportunity to pursue knowledge in an area of interest to them. It was established because graduating students would yearly tell us of more topics and experiences that should be added to our program. We recognize that the job of supporting individuals with Intellectual Handicaps can be extremely multifaceted depending on the needs of the individuals involved. In light of this, there is much knowledge not addressed in our program curriculum that would enhance a graduate’s abilities. It is hoped that the learners in this course will pursue areas of knowledge interesting and useful to them. In the past, students have chosen such topics as general as public education and as specific as teaching via drama. A "C" grade is required for successful completion of the course. |
