Infant and Toddler Development

Course CodeECEP-122
Lecture hours per week
Lab hours per week
Course AvailabilityOpen
Description

Studying the complexity and range of development of infants and toddlers is an interesting process. This course will build upon the basic knowledge that has been acquired in the course Observing Child Development (ECEP-117). Students will gain a deeper understanding of the sequences and patterns of development and explore developmental theories of infant/toddler development. The knowledge students acquire will help them to respond to the individual needs of the infants and toddlers with whom they work. Developmental stages and theories will be learned through observation, portfolio development, readings, videos, mini-lectures and in-class discussions. Active involvement in these experiences of learning will help the student to be successful.
