Description | This course will provide learners with the functional language skills and techniques to enable them to exchange meaning reciprocally through interaction with people and/or texts. This course consists of a series of five learning modules designed for elementary language learners. Students will exchange meaning reciprocally through successful communicative interaction with people and/or texts in the context of everyday situations. Students will improve fluency by studying and applying strategies for initiating, maintaining, and closing conversations in appropriate contexts. Students will execute various communicative tasks on a given theme or topic, and use relevant vocabulary to discuss results or present findings to the class. Particular emphasis will be applied to learner centered and communicative based activities with an outcomes-based education approach taken. Students will actively participate in classes. Students will also complete computer based activities to reinforce language skills learned in class. |
