| Description | This Integrated Core Skills course consists of five modules designed for pre-intermediate English language learners. This course will provide learners with strategies to enhance and improve reading ability and the writing process. Through distance learning, participants will build vocabulary through various reading sources, improve reading comprehension through scanning, skimming, paraphrasing, and inferencing; and develop writing skills using a variety of sentence types to create paragraphs including narrative, opinion, expository, and comparative of approximately 150 words. Particular attention will be paid to writing techniques including brainstorming; pre-writing; revising and re-writing. An outcomes based education approach will be taken giving learners practice with vocabulary and grammar in familiar and everyday contexts. |
