| Description | This course explores the financial back-end infrastructure that small, medium, and enterprise organizations require to support their e-business design. The focus of this course is on finding identifying and documenting business needs. Traditional financial recording and reporting systems have expanded their functionality to incorporate many of the operating processes and web enablements needed for a comprehensive and responsive e-commerce infrastructure. Processes, master and transaction file structures, reports, and data transmission capabilities will be examined in three levels of software: Enterprise Resource Planning (SAP R/# v.4.0), Multi-user and web-enabled (ACCPAC), and entrepreneurial (Simply Accounting). All three types of software are examples of database design. Inter-enterprise integration issues will be discussed, including Application Service Provider Models (MySAP.com, AccPacs ASP service), and data transmission methods (EDI, XML) |
