How do you construct a narrative that will work across media platforms? Is there a special approach to take depending on whether the story is told in film, books, TV shows, computer games, or in the new social networks? In this course we will observe and research several successful and lasting multiplatform successes and create our own projects. Integrated Media provides an overview of the challenges and opportunities within a quickly changing media landscape and strategies for how to approach these challenges successfully. Students learn to understand how to approach a project from a multiplatform perspective and how to apply their media skills as individual artists in versatile ways and most importantly how to collaborate in a group setting. The resulting projects and the class’ interaction becomes an inspired conversation about story, and result in very practical skills in writing, pitching and conceiving of very innovative multiplatform projects.
