| Description | This course provides students with an in-depth knowledge of International Banking and Financial systems, structures and regulations overseeing these systems. Students will learn about the theories of international banking, historical world currency considerations and foreign exchange and analyze the impacts on business of the global integration of international capital markets, the mobility of capital, the international legal, accounting and taxation systems. Students will learn how to use complex financial products and services, including methods of international trade finance, including derivative products, insurance and short to long term supplier and buyer credit solutions. In this course students will learn about the factors contributing to International financial crises and the advancement in international regulations and compliance instituted by governments and institutions to increase the safety and soundness of the International Financial Services industry. Students will develop skills in analyzing, evaluating and managing fiduciary risks inherent with asymmetric information, foreign exchange rate fluctuations, interest rate fluctuations and political risks. Through theory and practical exercises, students will learn about the various trade financing and insurance options available through international government agencies and corporations and the roles governments and financial intermediaries in providing financial services. Students will also learn about the effects of changes in economic and monetary policies that affect international trade and the global banking industry. |
