| Description | This is the second (see also International Transportation and Logistics) of two courses that prepares learners to obtain the CIFFA (Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association) certificate. Students will assess how buyers and sellers determine and manage risks associated with the movement of product(s) in international transactions. Students will learn about the various types of packaging requirements needed to reduce the risks of damage and other cargo losses, as well as the due diligence of the shipper/freight forwarder to meet cargo security measures. Students will learn the process/procedures/documents required to transport dangerous goods in the multimodal world of logistics. Learners will gain an understanding how costs are determined and quoted, combined with practicing critical thinking skills that will allow them to recommend alternative methods of transportation solutions to a target audience, including when disruptions affect planned movements. |
