| Description | This course introduces students to the interpersonal skills and practice theories that support effective helping relationships across human service and community-focused professions. Students explore communication strategies, relational dynamics, and professional presence. Emphasis is placed on building trust, conflict resolution, showing empathy, engaging diverse individuals and groups, and understanding how theory informs ethical practice. Through experiential activities, reflective learning, and applied skill development, students cultivate the core relationship competencies required for working with individuals, families, and communities. |
