Description: Event Management is a rapidly expanding segment of the hospitality industry that brings together many sectors such as catering, equipment rentals, décor, staffing, permits, sales and marketing. We will experience and examine the steps required to create, organize, execute and evaluate a successful event in this course. Students will participate in defining and understanding the elements involved in planning and staging corporate, social, life cycle, festivals and conferences. This course will also examine small businesses and entrepreneurship as it pertains to the event industry.
