Description | This is an introductory course to the field of Child and Youth Work. The content of this course includes: the history of the profession, the unique roles of the Child and Youth Worker and how these roles have evolved, a framework to view mental health and mental illness, exploration of the students professional identity, managing therapeutic relationships, and developing appropriate boundaries and ethics as a professional. The theory and application of beginning Child and Youth Work practice will be explored, as will the theory and practice of therapeutic activities, and behaviour management. Minimum 'C' Grade |
