Description | Students will gain general understanding of the history, culture, and identity of the central southern part of the continent, offering a critical and compassionate view of current challenges and their manifestations, such as social inequalities or economic development. Students will examine the diversity of cultures before the arrival of Europeans, the colonization process by a Catholic metropolis, and the independence process in light of the Enlightenment ideals. Furthermore, students will explore the evolution of these processes, the emergence of social problems, and how the global order contributes to solving or perpetuating some of Latin America's problems. |
