Description | In this course students will explore various Internet of Things (IoT) devices, sensors, and actuators, how they work, how to select, apply and troubleshoot them based on the type and how they can be connected to create efficiencies or solve industrial problems. Students will learn about ‘smart devices’ that get connected in systems adopting the Internet of Things to discover and interact with the real-world environment. Students will study programming IoT devices with python and node-red in conjunction with the physical interfacing using controller like Arduino and Raspberry Pi, intermediary enabling technologies, and communication challenges. Students will also develop an understanding of basic electronic design as applied to IoT smart devices. In the lab portion of this course, students will have the opportunity to work together in teams to design and construct electronic circuits in support of IoT solutions. |
