Description

In this course the basic principles of operation of various types of aircraft brake systems will be explained ranging from those on a simple fixed gear aircraft to anti-skid and auto brake systems seen on retractable multi-boogie type M2 systems. The student will perform servicing and maintenance procedures associated with landing gear operation and ground handling. This will include tires, wheels, brakes, oleos, actuators, control and indications. Safety procedures and standard practices will be employed.
