Description

Law and Ethics in Information Technology prepares students to deal with the difficult legal and ethical issues they can expect to confront in the use of information technology in business. The course takes a technical perspective to issues such as the management of access, privacy rights, intellectual property, protection of information security and corporate social responsibility. Major regulatory and public policy frameworks that govern information technology are evaluated. Competing ethical frameworks regarding the security and dissemination of information are examined and assessed.
