Leadership in the Culture and Heritage Sector

Course CodeCHSM-707
Lecture hours per week
Lab hours per week
Course AvailabilityOpen
Description
This course examines the skills and techniques essential to effective leadership in the cultural and heritage sector. Concepts and applications of human resource development in the public and not-for-profit sectors, team building, negotiations, communications and goal setting, are analyzed, discussed, and practiced. The sector is conspicuous by its reliance on volunteers and volunteerism and this reality requires particular human resource finesse. This course provides a superlative platform for developing the relationship of learner/sector supervisor Mentorship (see CHSM204-C&H Industry Field Placement) to be subsequently co-ordinated.
