| Description | This course continues the processes begun in the preceding massage theory and practice courses. The student is encouraged to apply critical thinking skills to deduce the best possible care of the patient. Assessment skills are developed to assist the learner to identity and respond appropriately to situations where massage therapy may be contraindicated. Trigger point therapy and joint play as additional modalities of treatment are discussed, demonstrated and practised. Concurrent laboratory practice reinforces theory base and expands the student's skill level. |
