The purpose of this course is to allow all students enrolled in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanics program to become familiarized with both the basic graphic language of mechanical engineering drawings (Blueprint Reading) as well as the concepts and features of the AutoCAD computer-assisted-drafting program.
The first aspect of this course will involve the discussion of the principles of graphic communications as typically employed in standard industrial mechanical engineering drawings with an emphasis placed on the proper use of *CSA drafting standards and practices. The Plan Specification and Load Calculation section will provide the students with both theory and practical training.
Students will be enabled to interpret drawings for the design of a structure that includes a refrigeration and air conditioning system, free hand sketching, the ability to describe procedures to gather data along with learning the methods to calculate heat gain for medium temperature and low temperature regarding conditions and requirements for refrigeration storage of products.
