| Description | This course allows students to develop a basic knowledge of the medical office assistant’s clerical and clinical duties as required in a hospital, medical, or private doctor’s office. Emphasis is placed on professionalism, ethics, effective patient interaction, communication skills, clinical procedures, and preparing/managing medical documents and correspondence. The medical assistant’s role as a clinical and administrative team member, as well as the roles and responsibilities of various health team members, will be thoroughly examined. Prerequisites
