Medium and Heavy-duty Suspension and Steering

Description

This course is designed to instruct technicians in description operation and servicing of medium and heavy-duty steering and suspension systems common to trucks, coaches and trailers. Topics covered include wheel ends, rims, tires, steer axles, single and dual box steering systems, power steering pumps, steering geometry, total vehicle alignment, air and spring suspensions, as well as other specialized suspension systems. Labs demonstration explain common alignment procedures, suspension adjustment and wheel end servicing techniques. Prerequisite: Must hold a valid 310S or 310T Service Technician licence, advanced apprentice or equivalent experience as determined by the department. Note: Safety boots and safety goggles must be worn in the lab areas. You will be denied access to labs if you are dressed inappropriately.
