Description

By taking Introduction to Mental Health and Addictions and the Justice System students will be able to identify and describe the signs, symptoms and behaviour characteristics of the most common mental health issues found amongst individuals involved in or at risk of becoming involved in the criminal justice system. Students will explore different alternatives and services available within the criminal justice system that are geared towards mental health and addictions and will examine the stigma associated with mental illness and the resultant barriers and limitations.
