| Description | COMP-102 is a comprehensive, introductory computer course intended for first-semester Computer Programming students in the School of Business, at Centennial College. Course delivery is supported by an online course management system. The course emphasizes computer concepts and microcomputer software packages that enhance effective business communications, i.e. the use of e-mail and the Internet, and the production of professional quality text documents, presentation graphics and simple spreadsheets. Course delivery has two important aspects: Lectures, which promote problem solving and the understanding of computer concepts; and weekly, hands-on computer Lab sessions with relevant applications, which reinforce the theory, learned. COMP102 is a prerequisite for a second semester database course.
