| Description | This course provides hands-on experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying native Android applications using Kotlin, Android Studio, and current industry-standard development practices. Students build modern mobile applications that apply declarative user interface development, responsive and accessible design, screen navigation, application architecture patterns, dependency management, asynchronous networking, local and cloud-based data storage, background processing, notifications, location services, and interactive maps. The course also introduces mobile AI integration through cloud-based and on-device AI models, AI agents, and mobile machine learning techniques. Students use AI-assisted development practices to support coding, debugging, refactoring, documentation, testing, and optimization while maintaining professional judgment, security awareness, privacy considerations, and code quality. Through practical labs and assignments, students develop intelligent, user-centred Android applications that address real-world scenarios and reflect current mobile software development practices. |
