Description | Are your riding skills a little rusty? Do you feel less than confident on your new bike? This refresher course on motorcycle safety provides the rider with in-class theory on riding attitude, road conditions, riding with a passenger and the use of SIPDE, (Scan, Identify, Predict, Decide and Execute). The practical segment will consist of slow-speed control, how to perform a proper safety check for pre-ride, multiple curve applications and high-speed manoeuvres such as Quick-Stop in a straight line, emergency swerve and decision-making at high speeds. Upon successful completion, you will understand the key elements in handling a motorcycle and be able to demonstrate the necessary skills to apply these techniques. This course will also aid in preparing you to be road-ready for the M2 Exit test. Course runs, rain or shine. Mandatory requirements: 1. Must produce a valid M2 licence and Liability Insurance Certificate prior to attending the course. 2. Must provide own roadworthy motorcycle. 3. At all times during the practical segment, students must wear the proper riding gear - D.O.T. approved helmet, a sturdy jacket, full leather boots, full hand gloves with leather palms, jeans or heavy pants. Anyone dressed inappropriately will not be allowed to ride. 4. Must adhere to all safety rules, follow the direction of course supervisor and respect other students. Any violation will result in termination of the course and will not be subject to a refund. |
