| Description | This course builds on the principle that modern journalists must blend traditional skills around reporting and writing (introduced in your reporting course work) with new production protocols appropriate for digital news media. This course attempts to orient the journalist to this multiplatform and digitally-focused environment by refining reporting/writing/production skills already acquired for the special needs of the news operations. Newsgathering today requires journalists to be able to file to a number of different media platforms. So, using a multiplatform, newsroom-in-action format, this course includes instruction in skills related to gathering, editing and uploading custom interactive content and data presentations and will outline protocols for audience interaction. *Minimum C grade required. |
