| Description | This course builds upon the theoretical and practical concepts developed in NET220 (Computer and Network Security). The course will start with background topics covering the development of network defense and countermeasures standards and techniques and the impact of hacking on businesses and enterprises will be examined. It provides students with a solid foundation of analytical skills and theoretical and practical knowledge in the area of advanced network security. This course explores the changing nature and challenge of hacking and hacker culture in Canada and globally and examines the impact these changes have had over time on the changing role, nature and challenges faced by networt defense and security professionals today. Students will also conduct a research on the emerging hacking trends and threats and the corresponding network defense and countermeasures technologies and methodologies. |
