| Description | Students are introduced to standard network management principles, practices, and technologies. Starting with the theoretical aspects in data communication and network management, the standards, models, and language of network management systems are introduced. Management technologies such as SNMP, RMON, are introduced, leading to an explanation of web-based developments and XML-based technology. The course explores the status and limitation of current technology and introduces the next-generation network management requirements. The students will have the opportunity to apply and demonstrate network management principles, concepts, and techniques in a modern lab environment. |
